Job Description

Aberdein Considine is one of the UK’s fastest growing law firms and is looking for a Legal Secretary to join our team in Stirling on a Full Time/Permanent Basis (office based).

The role will involve working closely with the Partner in Stirling to provide secretarial support, deal with client queries and work as part of a team to ensure the best customer service.

Role of Department

  • Acting for private clients looking to sell or purchase property
  • Dealing with Wills and Powers of Attorney for private clients and executry administration
  • Acting for commercial clients in connection with business sales and acquisitions and purchase, sales or leasing of commercial properties
  • Attending to client queries on the phone and in the office

Key Responsibilities

  • Answering telephone calls, taking messages and setting up appointments
  • Dealing with other Solicitor firms and surveyors
  • Dealing with incoming telephone calls from clients and clients coming into the office
  • Issuing purchase and miscellaneous quotations
  • Opening transaction files, and setting up clients on the system including money laundering
  • Secretarial support to Partner. This is mostly typing for sale, purchase and miscellaneous transactions. This includes offers, missive letters between parties, Wills, Powers of Attorney, requesting redemption statements, requesting title deeds, fee notes, civil and matrimonial Court matters and all correspondence to clients
  • Day-to-day handling of Solicitors diaries

Qualifications

Essential

  • Highers - English/Admin/Business

Skills and Experience

Essential

  • Experience in customer service
  • Previous secretarial experience

Desirable

  • Previous experience in a law firm
  • Previous experience in case management systems

Knowledge

  • Microsoft word and outlook

  • Microsoft excel
