A "Natural Step" as Tahir Bashir Rejoins Aberdein Considine's Renowned UK Recoveries Department
Award-winning Lender Services practice also welcomes new Senior Associate
UK law firm Aberdein Considine LLP has further reinforced its award-winning Lender Services division with two more senior appointments.
Tahir Bashir has rejoined the firm’s Lender Services Practice Group as Senior UK Recoveries Operations Director after sharpening his skills in the broader sector, while experienced repossession conveyancing lawyer Susan Robinson joins as a Senior Associate.
Their appointments come hot on the heels of fellow Lender Services colleagues Victoria-Louise Maugham, Head of Unsecured Recovery, and Sarah Phelps, Senior Associate, joining Aberdein Considine last month.
Tahir has built up more than 25 years’ experience in property and debt recovery, having first joined Aberdein Considine in May 2020 from Ascent Performance Group.
Since September 2025, he has gained further valuable experience leading teams within another law firm and a major American bank. His decision to come back to Aberdein Considine, which he describes as a “natural step”, makes him the second senior AC ‘returnee’ in under a week after commercial litigation specialist Leonie Nimmons rejoined the firm as a Consultant in Dispute Resolution, based in Aberdeen.
Susan brings over two decades’ experience as a conveyancing solicitor, having most recently held the role of Legal Underwriter at Premier Property Lawyers.
Jacqueline Law, Managing Partner at Aberdein Considine LLP, said: “Our Lender Services Practice Group has expanded hugely in the last two years with additional client wins and increased instruction levels. We have responded to client demand with senior hires of talented new colleagues.
“We’re really delighted that Tahir has returned to the firm to help further grow our UK Recoveries Teams. A very warm welcome, too, to Susan Robinson as Senior Associate in repossession conveyancing. I’m looking forward to working with both Tahir and Susan during this period of rapid growth and momentum for the department.”
Tahir Bashir said: “Aberdein Considine has already played a significant role in my career for more than five and a half years and I’m thrilled to have rejoined the firm. Since leaving, I have had the opportunity to broaden my experience through leadership roles with both a law firm in the sector and a major American bank. These experiences have provided valuable new perspectives that I am excited to bring back to Aberdein Considine.
“Returning to an organisation I know so well feels like a natural step. I look forward to working with clients and colleagues old and new as we continue to grow, innovate and deliver excellent outcomes for our clients and customers.”
Susan Robinson said: “I am very pleased to join Aberdein Considine as a Senior Associate in Lender Services and to be part of an exceptional team. Throughout my career I have built up extensive experience both in repossession sales and general conveyancing.
“I’m looking forward to putting my skills and knowledge into service to help grow the team’s understanding of client requirements, so we can continue to provide the best outcomes both for the firm and our clients.”
Both Tahir and Susan are based in Aberdein Considine’s busy Newcastle office.
