Jamie Apted is a Partner in Aberdein Considine’s Lender Services Practice Group, based in the Glasgow office.

He joined the firm in 2025 and is recognised for his expertise in complex disputes across commercial, banking, financial services, and public law.

Alongside his private practice experience, Jamie has worked in-house at one of the UK’s largest regulated investment exchanges and with a major public sector organisation. This combination provides him with a strong understanding of financial regulation in contentious situations and insight into how businesses operate in highly regulated environments, giving him a unique perspective on the needs of in-house legal teams.

Jamie advises on a wide range of matters, including contract and lending disputes, fraud, professional negligence, judicial reviews, insolvency, and volume debt recovery (in Scotland). He is praised for his commercial approach and focus on achieving the right outcomes. He also regularly supports solicitors from England, Wales, and overseas with Scottish agency work. Jamie has been recognised as Rising Star of the Year and Young Lawyer of the Year at the Scottish Legal Awards and LawNet Awards, and is described in legal directories as “really impressive, always very strong on the law” and “user-friendly and commercial.”
