Senior Solicitor/ Associate (3-4 yers PQE)Reporting to Partner Responsible for Glasgow office

Aberdein Considine are looking for a motivated individual keen to progress their career, who may already have a client following or are willing to work with the head of the team to develop new opportunities in Glasgow.

The successful candidate will be representing clients in a variety of employment law matters, for both employee and employer clients, including general employment advice, Employment Tribunals, drafting contracts of employment and other employment documents, advising on settlement agreements, and providing corporate support from an employment law perspective, including TUPE.

The role also offers the opportunity to become involved with the firm's Sports law team and advise on Contract negotiations, departures, and Image rights.

Requirements

Key Responsibilities

  • Advising clients on a variety of employment law matters
  • Business development and growing the Glasgow practice
  • Managing a varied caseload, including some Sports and contentious matters
  • Negotiating settlements/Contracts/Policies
  • Representing clients in the Employment Tribunal
  • Drafting employment law related legal documents
  • Maximisation of fee income
  • Furthering Firm projects and objectives

Qualifications

Essential

  • LLB, Diploma in Legal Practice

Skills and Experience

Essential

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong Business development skills
  • Ability to work in a team
  • Competent IT skills
  • Ability to work to deadlines


Knowledge

Essential

  • Good knowledge of all Employment Law legislation
  • Good knowledge of Employment Tribunal practice and procedure
  • Knowledge of legal issues and Sport useful but not essential
